Graduate Dean’s Awards

These $4,000 non-service awards are intended to support recruitment and retention of qualified domestic students (citizens or eligible non-citizens) with financial need. Students must be fully admitted, degree-seeking, enrolled in at least six semester hours per semester*, and have a GPA of 3.0 or better. Awardees may not hold a concurrent assistantship.

Academic departments may nominate:

a) Current master’s and doctoral students who will complete their program during the 2015-2016 academic year, to receive a one-year award;

b) Master’s and doctoral students newly admitted for Fall 2015: master’s students (including MFA) may retain the award for 2 years and doctoral students for 3 years, assuming good academic performance and continued financial need demonstrated through (re)submission of the FAFSA.

Individuals must submit a 2015-2016 FAFSA, preferably by March 1, 2015 for timely notification of an award,¬†and MUST be NOMINATED BY THE ACADEMIC DEPARTMENT. *Continuing students who are completing their required thesis or dissertation hours may be considered eligible while enrolled in 3 hours of 699 or 799. Continuing students who are completing non-thesis programs and who require fewer than 6 hours to finish may be considered eligible while enrolled in reduced credit hours for one semester.
