Essential Resources

  • Parking: The Office of Parking Operations & Campus Access Management provides information on parking on campus as well as public transportation options, bike-sharing, and car-sharing programs.
  • Technology: The Office of Information Technology Services provides information on computing, communication, and data, and also assists with university accounts, email, printing, and discounted student software.
  • Housing: Housing for graduate students is available at Lofts on Lee, which provides the increased independence, privacy, and flexibility sought by graduate students.
  • Bookstore: Find your textbooks, UNCG merchandise, electronics, and more.
  • Dining: View meal plan information, on-campus dining options, and off-campus partners.
  • Concert and Lecture Series: Live Your Life with Live Arts! Through the Concert and Lecture Series, explore dance, books, poetry, and legends of the stage and screen.
  • The Weatherspoon Art Museum: Enriches the lives of diverse individuals and connects multiple communities by presenting, interpreting, and collecting modern and contemporary art.
  • Exploring Greensboro: The city of Greensboro offers all the benefits of a large city while maintaining a small-town feel. Recommendations on restaurants, shopping, and other attractions can be found on the Campus Activities and Programs website.

  • Health Services: All eligible students at UNCG are required to have health insurance and are billed for the Student Health Insurance Plan each semester unless they submit an active health waiver. Visit Student Blue and Student Health Services for more information.
  • Recreation & Wellness: The Department of Recreation and Wellness fosters comprehensive wellness in the UNCG community. Among their facilities is the 216,000-square-foot Kaplan Center for Wellness.
  • Counseling Services: The Counseling and Psychological Services assists students with a variety of mental health, developmental, and situational concerns. They offer immediate services for students in crisis as well as walk-in services and appointments.
  • Well-Being: Spartan Well-Being promotes a culture of care by helping students, “Be Well & Stay Well.”
  • Spartan Recovery @ UNCG: Spartan Recovery is a program for students in all phases of recovery from alcohol and other drugs. The program is available, free of charge, to UNCG faculty, staff, and students. Spartan Recovery @ UNCG is located in Spartan Village at the corner of Highland Avenue and Union Street.  
  • Safety and Emergencies: The UNCG Police have compiled a series of applications and sites that improve campus safety and awareness. The UNCG Emergency number is 336-334-4444.
  • Violence Response: The Campus Violence Response Center (CVRC) works with UNCG students, faculty, and staff impacted by sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, sexual or gender-based harassment, and all other forms of violence. We provide free and confidential advocacy and counseling services to all victims/survivors.
  • Title IX: Committed to the principle that educational and employment decisions should be based on an individual’s abilities and qualifications.
  • Grad Crisis Hotline: The National Grad Crisis Line offers graduate students free, confidential telephone counseling, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and information and referral services provided by specially trained call-takers. Caring, professional staff and well-trained volunteers answer around the clock.

  • Digital Bootcamp: Share your scholarship, raise your scholarly profile, and learn about the latest tools & tech.
  • Career & Professional Development: If you are looking for an academic or non-academic career, the office of Career & Professional Development can help you build your resume, explore opportunities, attend career events, build your network, and much more.

  • Writing Groups and Resources: Check out the Graduate School Writing Resources to join a Peer Writing Support Group, attend the Writing Bash, or participate in our Writers’ Retreat/Thesis and Dissertation Boot Camp, which are typically scheduled each winter and spring.
  • Service Learning: The Office of Leadership and Civic Engagement prepares students to serve as change-makers. They develop, promote, and advance civic engagement, leadership development, and meaningful service to create positive social change.
  • Study Abroad: In one of the most rewarding and transformative experiences you will have during your college years, you’ll acquire skills and new perspectives that will make you more competitive in achieving your professional goals and broaden your understanding of diverse cultures.
  • Research Abroad: Prestigious international and national fellowships can help prospective applicants at all stages of the process, including planning, applying, and final submission for research opportunities. They assist students with various awards.
  • Graduate Student Association: A student fee-funded organization formed by students to promote the interests of the graduate student body at UNCG.

  • Library: The UNCG University Libraries include the main Walter Clinton Jackson Library and the Harold Schiffman Music Library. In addition to printed materials, e-books, and audio and video recordings, the libraries offer quiet study areas and a librarian for every subject at UNCG to assist with research-related inquiries.   • Career Services: The Career Services Center provides career coaching, as well as guidance and training on building your resume and securing jobs or internships.
  • OARS: The Office of Accessibility Resources & Services provides, coordinates, and advocates for services that enable undergraduate and graduate students with disabilities to receive equal access to all aspects of university life.
  • Military and Veterans: UNCG’s Office of Military Affiliated Services is a resource for future, current, and past UNCG military-affiliated students. They coordinate services for veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their dependents, serving as a liaison and advocate for military-affiliated students and fostering a sense of community between UNCG’s military and civilian populations.
  • Sexual Harassment in Academia: Read a recent report on Climate, Culture, and Consequences in Academic Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine from the Committee on Women in Science, Engineering, and Medicine.
  • Spartan Open Pantry: The Spartan Open Pantry’s sole purpose is to ensure that no UNCG student goes hungry. Students can attend scheduled distributions or schedule an appointment on the Wesley-Luther SOP page.
  • Global Engagement Office: The Global Engagement Office is the central point of contact for all the University’s international activities. They help international students discover UNCG and assist students interested in Study Abroad and Exchange programs.
  • 6-Tech: 6-TECH Online is the go-to resource for support and documentation on ITS services and products.
  • Intercultural Engagement: The Office of Intercultural Engagement at UNC Greensboro aspires to be a model of excellence for student-centered intercultural engagement and education, dialogue, and community building.

  • Academic Integrity: The Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities is responsible for maintaining the University’s Academic Integrity Policy, which includes definitions of academic integrity and procedures for reporting academic integrity violations.
  • Technology Policies: UNCG requires users of information systems owned or provided by the University to exercise sound judgment and abide by several policies.
  • Official University Communication: According to UNCG University policy, email is the official method of communication. Thus, all official communications will be transmitted through UNCG University email to your official UNCG email address at the “uncg.edu” domain. It is your responsibility to monitor this email account at all times while enrolled at UNCG. Failure to monitor this account may cause you to miss important announcements and deadlines and will not serve as a basis for an appeal or modification of deadlines.
  • Residency for Tuition Purposes: The NC Residency Determination Service (RDS) is the entity responsible for determining residency for tuition purposes in North Carolina. Residency determinations must be submitted in full in RDS by the tenth business day of a semester in order to apply to that term.
  • Campus Policies: The Division of Student Affairs maintains several policies, including those related to alcohol, illegal drugs, firearms, and other matters.
  • Graduate Teaching Assistant Information: The Graduate School maintains a website with information, resources, and frequently asked questions (FAQs) concerning Graduate Teaching Assistantships.
  • UNCG Catalog: The Catalog serves as your contract with UNCG, providing information on policies, procedures, and deadlines, as well as details regarding your program.
